Chris's Cogitations: Yes - Mynzapints first gig was at The Villa (Wrea Green?) on the 20 October 1977. We were paid £20 which at the time bought a lot more beer than the 9 pints we were paid at the Queens. We performed without a PA system, I remember us all coming out of the gents (after changing) to the applause of the audience.

One claim to fame that we have is that when we played The Windmill the takings were often £1000 for the day.This was when beer was 50p a pint. It was not long after we stopped playing there that the owners sold it. No doubt there were a good set of accounts to help the sale.
